Keeping an Eye Out for Bigfoot
From documentaries to festivals, it seems he’s everywhere. Or is he?
We’re talking about Bigfoot of course. Where’s the best chance for a Bigfoot sighting? Right now, you can find Sasquatch on Hulu, if not in the woods.
When I saw this new Sasquatch documentary was airing on Hulu, of course I had to check it out. I've said before I'm a big believer in the legend of Bigfoot (as you may have guessed by my Bigfoot fly fishing design). For fun that is. It's more fun to believe than not. Maybe I'm not the only one.
I don’t want to spoil the documentary for anyone who hasn’t seen it, so I’ll just ask ‘Whodunnit?’ For those who don’t know, Sasquatch is a true-crime documentary about an early ‘90s triple murder of three cannabis farm workers in California. Rumor had it that Sasquatch was among the suspects. Of course, the documentary is really about more than Bigfoot (again, no spoilers), but it was intriguing and worth a watch.
It’s just the latest of Bigfoot in the news this year. In January, an Oklahoma state representative proposed a bill to introduce an official Bigfoot Hunting Season to promote tourism in the state.
Oklahoma is already one of several states to have annual Bigfoot festivals, with the 2021 festival in Honobia, Oklahoma set for early October.
Bigfoot is also big in the Carolinas. The annual Bigfoot Festival in Marion, North Carolina is scheduled for September. And in October, you can find a Bigfoot Festival in Westminster, South Carolina.
Don’t want to wait until the fall to find a Sasquatch festival? Head to Tennessee in May or to Pennsylvania or Washington in June.
There are many other festivals waiting to be found. Will you have a Bigfoot sighting this year?
